At least there's some reasonable speculation about Sherlock's (ACD!)father being called Siger. Mummy!Holmes has no canon name speculation. In the end, I saw that Violet was a name that kept popping up and went, "Damn it all, I'll use that."
I bet when they wrote the ending to the mini-series, they were laughing their heads off. MWAHAHA CLIFFHANGER. Gah. At least that practically ensured season 2. :)
