It's not dorky at all. I discovered Harry Potter around the time OOTP came out, and it was my encouragement to start writing again, learn to knit (oddly, I have never made a Ravenclaw scarf), and learn to draw. I have some spatial issues, so learning to draw was a really big deal for me. Plus, I got my LJ and made loads of friends after quite a few years alone. Now that I'm older, I wouldn't mind taking an editing pen to parts of HP, but I still do love it.
