Oh. Oh my. Please, please let him be alive!

This was amazing. It chilled me to my very core, but it was a simply stunning piece of writing. It was so interesting to see the stages Erik went through in coming to terms with what was happening around him, and the way that he felt both physically and emotionally as the life was draining out of him.

I think my favorite bit has to be when Raven is looking at Charles, realising how terrifying he is when he is angry. It also broke my heart when Erik was listing his regrets, the things he never got to do, because even though they don't bring him peace (killing Shaw and avenging his mother) in the end, they do give him relief. To take that away from him is to strip him of his purpose.

This... just, wow.

I knew from the title it would most likely be an open ending, but you fit it in so well with the concept of Schrödinger’s Cat. I'd absolutely love to see two endings, one where he is alive and one where he is dead. At the same time, I don't, because I feel it may take away from the strength of the story. Not knowing which is true and which is false ensures that this leaves a lasting impression on you.

It definitely, definitely worked.

Stunning, brutal, cautious and hopeful all wrapped into one. I love it.
