There are very few, but they exist, Orochimaru stealing Iruka/Orochimaru brainwashing Iruka or Iruka working for Orochimaru to protect Konoha/Naruto but as far as I know, they've all been abandoned. I think most people find it too hard to write or they lose track of where they're going. Hello, that's why you write the last sentence/chapter first! [and then write the rest of the chapters and confuse yourself] XD *poke*
I like character torture if I'm in the right mood and it's written well, but I always feel bad about writing it myself [as if I'm actually hurting them, lol] so I normally don't. XD *poke*
