Movie Review: Pirates of the Caribbean 4

Suuucked.

Suuuuuucked so baaaad.

It was nicely done, aesthetically speaking, but the plot. Or should I say, the LACK of plot.

UGGGH. WHAT DID I WASTE TWO HOURS WATCHING? *Headdesk.* Seriously. That was mindless. I disliked the lack of direction/plot/description/etc.

Jack is a great minor character, but God, as a major character he feels like a Gary Stu. IDK.

WTF WAS UP WITH THE MERMAID AND THAT DUDE? asdfghjkl; There were so many pointless, poorly written sub-plots. Ridiculous.

*Headdesks some more.* Why do they keep dragging this franchise out? (Because stupid idiots like me go see it...) BLARGHY. Sad thing is, if there's another movie, I'll see it. D:

At least I caught up with an old friend and had a good time. :)

I think the problem stemmed from them trying to squeeze Jack Sparrow into the plot of Tim Power's On Stranger Tides, essentially switching Sparrow for the main character from the novel. (Haven't read the book, but I assume that's where the priest and the mermaid came from.)

They're contracted for two more movies.

... Two more movies. Oh God. I think they'd be more enjoyable (I mean, they're rather pretty movies) if I could let go of the plot, but the plot holes are SO BIG. Priest and mermaid, wtf happened with them asdfghjkl;

And I noticed that the movie was based off a book in the credits. There may have been potential in the book!canon, but yeah, Jack Sparrow and the entire movie felt off-kilter. :/

You went to see the movie so you could experience Hawaii by-proxy since most of the outdoor scenes were filmed here, obviously. I haven't seen it yet, but I can just imagine me watching it and saying, THAT'S BLAHBLAHBLAH!!!! like I did during the trailer, lol!

Actually... Watching the last movie made me go THAT'S RIGHT OUTSIDE MY HOUSE!

...actually... The Queen Anne's Revenge WAS kind of by my house... *shifty eyes* and we did not stalk Johnny Depp and/or the ship often... *shifty eyes* or concoct plans to get on the ship during filming... No. Because that would just be insane.

The beautiful scenery helped me tolerate the movie. If that forest-y area was your backyard, your place is SO BEAUTIFUL.

Though I thought the water/beach scenes were filmed off the Australian coast, admittedly. We share nice beaches. :D

If you saw Johnny Depp in RL and planned to get aboard the ship, then I wholeheartedly approve. :DDD

Hahaha Obviously my background is the whole movie. XDDDDD

Stay off our beaches! >D You have a whole reef to claim! Leave the beaches alone!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, JD as we call him, because we're like this *crosses fingers*, was super chillax~ XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

*hugs beaches* I can't let them go! They're so preeettty~. But sandy. Ick.

AHAHA, JD LOL! Since I subconsciously picture you as a sheep, I just imagine you casually baa-ing at him. XDDD

Yeah, watch that movie where they fight on the sandbar where there's nothing around? That's also a few miles outside my house, lol! Maybe you can go to swimming pools that look like beaches but where the sand is all cement???

Yeah, I baa at JD. He knows what I'm sayin'!
